Introducing
ART® (Active Release Techniques)
ART is a breakthrough in the treatment of injury. A revolutionary form of
manual therapy, it’s the first program specifically designed to evaluate
and treat damaged soft tissue. ART can address and resolve many injuries
previously considered untreatable, often in just a few visits. When soft
tissue is injured, it literally “gets stuck”: Filaments of the
tissue get bound together, forming dense scar tissue or adhesions. These
adhesions impede movement, and often entrap nerves. Using a series of hands-on
techniques while the affected muscles are in motion, the ART practitioner
assesses the damaged tissue and releases the adhesions, separating bound
tissue and restoring function. It sounds simple, yet the results can be
dramatic, and immediate. Unlike traditional therapies for soft-tissue injury
that offer only symptomatic relief, ART goes to the root of the problem
to resolve injury and facilitate healing. Properly employed, its success
rate is over 90%, even with such chronic problems as carpal tunnel syndromes
and rotator cuff tendonitis. At Avanzaré, where ART is combined with
chiropractic care and functional movement training, the results can be even
more comprehensive, restoring optimal mobility, strength and performance. |

Chiropractic
Care
Healthy soft tissue is only one of the elements essential to fluid motion.
Every part of the musculoskeletal system is interconnected. Movement is
initiated by the nervous system, muscle by muscle, bone by bone, joint by
joint. If anything is misaligned, the entire kinetic chain is affected.
Joints that are fixated or misaligned can weaken muscles, cause pain, and
impede the flow of energy to the rest of the body. At Avanzaré, we
use classic chiropractic techniques to realign and mobilize the joints of
the spine and extremities, resetting affected neurological transmission
and reestablishing balance. |

Sports
Injury Rehabilitation / Personal Training
If rehabilitation is attempted while an affected area is still weak and
tight, the constrictions can be increased, creating further imbalance. With
ART, rehabilitation doesn’t begin until the injured tissue is restructured.
Only then are appropriate exercised recommended and functional movement
patterning incorporated to rebuild strength and flexibility, and retrain
the body to move properly. This segment of treatment is critical to ensure
and maintain a healthy, mobile, injury-free future. In most cases, patients
with active lifestyles and disciplined training schedules will be able to
continue these, though they may need to modify or supplement their routines
for a while. The goal is for patients to walk away with a strategy for maintaining
optimal, pain-free performance, without the need for ongoing treatment. |

Massage/To
Live is to Move
No matter what you do, how you spend your time, at work, play, or leisure
activities, how you move physically through your day affects the quality
of your life. When your range of motion becomes limited and movement feels
painful or weak, daily activities become challenging, if not unbearable,
to perform. This happens because the soft tissues that keep your body moving
have gotten injured in some way. The joints may become fixated and unable
to work properly. The cause of injury might be a sudden trauma or may happen
more slowly, over time, from repetitive stress or overuse. Even chronic
poor posture or lack of exercise can induce trauma to the tissues. Whatever
the cause, injuries respond very well to the appropriate therapies, and
relief from pain and dysfunction are well within your reach. |
